THERMO-Lo is not a laser, however...
on small spider veins it can work better than most lasers and the machine costs under $4,000.

Thermo-Lo Enquiries, I have been in the
medical and aesthetic field for about 40 years and enjoy helping
professionals
to learn new and exciting tools that will make them better equipped. The Thermo-Lo is very easy to use…and the
operator does not need to be a medical or aesthetic professional…however it
can be beneficial if the operator had some background in the anatomy or
histology of the skin. The advantage of using the Thermo-Lo is that it
only works on the top layers of the skin (epidermis) and the dermal layers
of the skin are not affected. Sometimes pulsed light treatments can
penetrate both the epidermis and the dermis, which in turn can cause
temporary or even permanent damage on the skin. The Thermo-Lo can be applied
precisely to the area that you want treated, whereas light therapy cannot be
focused on small solar lentigines (sun spots) or telangiectasias (spider
veins) without hitting areas that do not need to be treated. My analogy is that we want to “treat the weeds
and leave the grass alone”. Lasers and IPL (intense pulsed light) can
sometimes hit everything in its path. If the patient/client has competing
chromophores The thing to remember about the Thermo-Lo is
that you are not going into the deeper layers of skin to remove tissue. You
are simply touching the epidermis and allowing the current to attract to the
water in the milia, sebaceous hyperplasia, spider vein, cherry hemangioma or
acne…to dehydrate the problem area…thus causing the body (over a few days)
to exfoliate the dried skin. The down time is minimal and the treatment can
be permanent. What the client or patient feels during the treatment is
a slight heat sensation - depending on their pain tolerance. However I
usually apply an OTC (over-the-counter) topical anesthetic called LMX before
the treatment…(not to anesthetize but to desensitize the area). It takes
about 15-20 minutes to work.
This is what I enjoy the most in my
life…teaching.

care,
Lorenzo
